What To Expect:

As a new client, you will be introduced to a unique form of therapy that focuses on healing without the need to verbally share your trauma. The sessions will include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) techniques, which use guided movements to help process and reduce anxiety. You will be supported in a safe, non-judgmental space where you can relax and begin your healing journey. There’s no need to feel pressure to disclose any personal history or trauma.

  • Upon arrival, you’ll fill out a simple form to provide basic information. This helps your therapist understand how best to support you during the session. The form is confidential and will be kept secure, with no personal details shared outside of the therapy setting. This step is part of the process to help guide your experience without requiring you to disclose anything you're not comfortable with. You do not need to disclose your trauma.

  • Once your form is completed, the therapist will guide you through a process to help calm your mind and level out any anxiety you may be feeling. You will be gently led into a state of relaxation through grounding techniques. This ensures that your mind and body are ready for the EMDR process, allowing for a smoother and more effective session without overwhelming emotions.

  • During the session, you will participate in the EMDR technique, where you’ll follow the therapist's instructions, including chest patting and following hand movements left to right. These movements, known as bilateral stimulation, are designed to activate your brain’s natural healing processes. You will be guided through this practice as you focus on your paper, allowing your mind to begin processing past experiences in a non-verbal, calming way.

  • At the end of the session, the therapist will guide you to reflect on the experience and offer any support you need. You will leave feeling more relaxed, with less anxiety or emotional distress related to past trauma. While the session does not require you to share or verbalize your feelings, know that the healing process is ongoing, and you can return for more sessions whenever you are ready to continue your journey.

Studies indicate that EMDR therapy boasts success rates of 80–90% in treating trauma-related conditions, including PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Notably, 100% of single-trauma victims reported no PTSD symptoms after just three 90-minute sessions.

02

Unlike traditional talk therapies, EMDR often delivers faster results. Many clients experience significant improvements within 6–12 sessions, with some reporting symptom relief after just a few sessions.

EMDR is recognized as an effective treatment for PTSD by reputable organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the American Psychiatric Association, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
